Name of the Workshop MICS Workshop 1 & 2: Endoscopic Mitral Repair and Surgical Ablation Therapy
Venue Suntec Convention Centre, Level 3
Time Wednesday, 14 May 2025 (1300 – 1600)
Introduction This workshop will offer hands-on training in endoscopic mitral valve repair techniques and cardiac ablation procedures. Mitral valve disease presents significant challenges in cardiovascular care, and this workshop showcases the latest advancements in endoscopic approaches for mitral valve repair, MIS LAA occlusion, and the use of the RAM device, as well as surgical ablation techniques. This workshop provides a valuable opportunity to explore how these innovative strategies are revolutionising treatment approaches and improving patient outcomes in cardiac surgery.
Objectives – Discuss and provide supervised hands-on experience with endoscopic mitral valve repair techniques, MIS LAA occlusion, the use of the RAM device, and cardiac ablation procedures.
– Develop participants’ technical skills for minimally invasive cardiac interventions.
– Enable participants to apply acquired skills in surgical practice.
Flow/Structure – Two stations (10 pax per station): A) Mitral (5 units) and B) Ablation (5 units)
– 1h 15 mins session at each station followed by an exchange of stations
Number of Participants – Maximum of 20 participants
– Cardiac Surgeons, Cardiac Surgery Residents, Advanced Practice Nurses and Medical Doctors

Name of the Workshop MICS Workshop 3/4/5: Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (OPCABG)
Venue Suntec Convention Centre, Level 3
Time Wednesday, 14 May 2025 (1200 – 1300 / 1330 – 1430 / 1500 – 1600)
Introduction This workshop on OPCABG offers training in performing bypass surgery on a beating heart, covering patient selection, surgical techniques, and postoperative care. It will provide hands-on experience with surgical simulators, guidance on managing intraoperative challenges, and strategies for optimising recovery and outcomes. Expert panels and case discussions will facilitate interactive learning while highlighting advancements in OPCABG technology and its advantages, such as reduced complications and faster patient recovery. Networking opportunities will allow participants to collaborate with experienced surgeons and stay updated on advancements in the field.
Objectives Mastery of OPCABG Techniques: Equip participants with the skills to perform coronary artery bypass surgery on a beating heart.
Improving Patient Outcomes: Enhance knowledge of patient selection criteria and perioperative care.
Exposure to Innovations and Collaboration: Introduce participants to the latest advancements in OPCABG.
