About the Department of CTVS and NUHCS
The Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, embedded within the National University Heart Centre of Singapore, is a recognised academic research and clinical hub in the region.
Our department and the NUHCS bring together the resources, expertise, and capabilities in the areas of cardiology and cardiothoracic vascular surgery to better meet the needs of the growing number of patients with heart disease and raise the future generation of medical professionals. Comprising a team of internationally recognised surgeons in the field of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, the CTVS has been awarded two institutional Peak of Excellence for its minimal invasive thoracic surgery and aortic programme. It has been ranked top in Southeast Asia for three consecutive years for the speciality of cardiac surgery in Newsweek’s Best Hospitals Award.
As a referral hub in Singapore and beyond, our department/NUHCS manages complex cardiovascular diseases offering a wide spectrum of techniques, and technologies. CTVS continues to make a difference in the lives of patients by providing comprehensive and customised treatments and solutions to the most challenging heart, lung and circulatory diseases.
