About the Department of CTVS and NUHCS

The Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, embedded within the National University Heart Centre of Singapore, is a recognised academic research and clinical hub in the region.

The department, along with NUHCS, brings together resources, expertise, and capabilities in cardiology and cardiothoracic vascular surgery to better address the growing number of patients with heart disease and nurture the next generation of medical professionals. With a team of internationally recognised surgeons in the field of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, the department has been awarded two institutional Peak of Excellence for its minimal invasive thoracic surgery and aortic programme. It has been ranked as the top institution in Southeast Asia for cardiac surgery for three consecutive years in Newsweek’s Best Hospitals Award.

As a leading referral hub in Singapore and beyond, the department and NUHCS manage complex cardiovascular diseases, offering a wide spectrum of techniques and technologies.
