Awards & Grants

Applicants should be a member of ASCVTS, and the first author of the abstract must be a presenter of either an oral or poster presentation.

The award will be given to the best paper related to the Thoracic domain.

The finalists will be selected by the ASCVTS 2025 scientific committee based on the peer review of the content of the submitted abstracts and present their work at the “Furuse Award” Session. The finalists must complete his/her registration with full payment by the pre-registration deadline and should submit his/her manuscript of the full paper to Asian Annals.

Those manuscripts will be provided to discussants before the award presentation at ASCVTS 2025 and will be published in Asian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Annals after the presentation. The winning paper will be published in the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery simultaneously.

The winner will be announced at the Gala Dinner and will receive an honorarium of USD 1,000. This prize honorarium is given only when the manuscript has been submitted.

The CN Lee Innovation and Outreach Award is named in honour of the esteemed Professor Lee Chuen Neng, recognising his outstanding contributions to the field of CTVS surgery. This prestigious accolade will be presented to the author of the most groundbreaking and innovative abstract paper, reflecting Professor Lee’s commitment to advancing medical knowledge and fostering innovation.

The award will be officially presented during the ASCVTS 2025 Gala Dinner, where we will celebrate excellence and honour the legacy of Professor Lee in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.
