![]() | Prof. Hiroshi Niinami, Tokyo Women’s Medical University Hospital, Japan Dr. Hiroshi Niinami is a Professor and Executive Director at Tokyo Women’s Medical University Hospital, where he chairs the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at The Heart Institute of Japan. He received his M.D. from Gunma University and a Ph.D. in Medical Science from Tokyo Women’s Medical University. Dr. Niinami specializes in complex coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB). His international training includes fellowships at Wayne State University, U.S., and the Royal North Shore Hospital, Australia. His research focuses on improving outcomes for patients with left ventricular dysfunction and those needing ventricular assist devices. He holds notable positions, including Honorary Member of The Society of Thoracic Surgeons of Thailand (since 2019), Official Adviser for the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) (since 2018), and Visiting Professor at Waseda University (since 2018) and University Medicine I in Yangon, Myanmar (since 2014). Dr. Niinami is certified by both the Japanese Board of Thoracic Surgery and the Japanese Board of Surgery, reflecting his commitment to excellence in cardiovascular surgery. |
